School Holiday Activities
Whether it’s the half-term breaks or the full summer holiday, keeping children occupied during school holidays is essential.
Our popular Curry and Craft days run during the Summer Holidays and October Half Term and are an opportunity for children to try out Nepalese and Gurkha themed craft activities as well as taste some authentic Nepalese Curry. School holiday activities are free of charge but we do ask for an optional donation on the day.
All Year Round
The Museum provides FREE kids trails* for all children visiting the Museum. The trails, choose from under 6 or age 6 and over, are packed with fun games, puzzles and quizzes perfect to keep the children occupied whilst you enjoy the Museum. Please ask at reception on arrival.
Summer Holidays 2022
Kids Curry and Craft Day, Monday 8th August:
Join us for Nepalese and Gurkha themed craft activities. Make your own medal, make your own moveable elephant or rhino, make your own (cardboard!) kukri and try out our fun kids trail around the Museum. Our popular curry tastings will also be available. Drop in between 11am and 3pm. Activities are free of charge but we welcome donations to support the work of the Gurkha Museum Trust.
Also included every Monday throughout August:
This summer holidays we need intrepid explorers and problem solvers to come and take part in our new interactive LEGO experience.
Children will be able to build a LEGO model vehicle from scratch and then use that model to complete objectives on our interactive map of an earthquake disaster zone in Nepal!
This activity will prove to be fun for all the family and will give children a chance to play with LEGO, use problem solving and analytical skills to complete objectives, as well as learn about the role that Gurkhas play during disaster relief.
