School Holiday Activities
Whether it’s the half-term breaks or the full summer holiday, keeping children occupied during school holidays is essential.
Our popular Curry and Craft days run during the Summer Holidays and October Half Term and are an opportunity for children to try out Nepalese and Gurkha themed craft activities as well as taste some authentic Nepalese Curry. School holiday activities are free of charge but we do ask for an optional donation on the day.
All Year Round
The Museum provides FREE kids trails* for all children visiting the Museum. The trails, choose from under 6 or age 6 and over, are packed with fun games, puzzles and quizzes perfect to keep the children occupied whilst you enjoy the Museum. Please ask at reception on arrival.
May Half Term 2022
Curry, craft and LEGO Day, Tuesday 31 May:
Join us for Nepalese and Gurkha themed craft activities. Make your own medal, make your own (cardboard!) kukri and try out our fun kids trail around the Museum. Our popular curry tastings will also be available. Drop in between 11am and 3pm. Activities are free of charge but we welcome donations to support the work of the Gurkha Museum Trust.
Also included for May half term only…
We need intrepid testers for our brand-new interactive LEGO experience. Using the LEGO Spike Essential kit, we need you to solve an environmental problem in the same way that the British Army would.
Can you build a LEGO model vehicle to help after a natural disaster? Can you programme it to take aid to the people who need it? Can you adapt it to carry more food, medicine and supplies? What else can you create?
This brand-new educational experience from Winchester’s Military Museums is still in the testing phase and we need you to help us to explore, engage and enjoy getting interactive with STEM learning.
Part of The Gurkha Museum’s Curry and Craft Day. Drop in!
All our staff are DBS checked.
Children must be accompanied by an adult during all activities.
*The Kids Trails were paid for by a Grant from South East Museums Development Program
Please read our latest COVID-19 statement for up to date information on visiting the Museum.
