Donating Items

The vast collection of The Gurkha Museum is built in part on the generous donations of items and archives that have been gifted to the Museum by members of the public. We welcome donations in line with our Collections Policy that relate to Gurkha service to Britain and would be delighted to discuss any potential donations that you may wish to make towards our collection.

As an Accredited Museum we hold our collections and archives to a high standard of security, preservation, and presentation, ensuring that all items that come into our care are preserved for future generations of visitors and researchers.

If you would like further information on donating items, please visit our Collections FAQs page.To discuss the donation further, please contact the Museum’s Collections Officer at collections@thegurkhamuseum.co.uk, who will be able to advise you further on the process of donation and whether or not the Museum would be able to accept the proposed item(s).

Please note that we ask visitors not to bring in donations without an appointment, as these cannot be left at the Museum without prior notice.
