Major JR Harrop

John Harrop has been Trustee of the Gurkha Museum Trust since 2019.

He left the City in 1970 after working for the Ottoman Bank to serve with the 2nd King Edward VII’s Own Gurkha Rifles ( Sirmoor Rifles ) . He left the Army in 1987 for a second career in investment management responsible for private clients, trusts and charities initially with Albert E Sharp before retiring in 2016 as a director of Smith & Williamson and becoming a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
