Operation HELLFIRE – Online Lecture

Experiences of operations during the Borneo ‘Confrontation’

With: Brigadier Christopher Bullock OBE MC

Brigadier Christopher Bullock OBE MC shares the remarkable story of a young officer on the front line of the secret CLARET operations during the undeclared conflict between Britain and Indonesia in the mid-1960s. Officially denied at the time, these daring cross-border missions deep into Indonesian territory proved decisive in regaining the initiative and bringing the campaign known as ‘Confrontation’ to a successful conclusion.

Join us for this virtual lecture as Brigadier Bullock recounts the extraordinary story of Operation HELLFIRE.  Presented as part of The Gurkha Museum Trust’s Borneo 60 commemorations, this pre-recorded lecture honours the service and sacrifice of the Gurkhas sixty years after the operation commenced.
