Steve has been a trustee of the Gurkha Museum since 2017 and chairs its risk and audit committee.

He is a chartered accountant and spent his executive career at Grant Thornton. He held various leadership positions at the firm between 1990 and 2016, including Chair, Head of Audit, and Managing Partner of the London Satellite Offices.

Steve was appointed by the CEOs of the 6 largest global accounting networks to chair their public policy body, in which role he was the spokesperson  of the global audit profession with key stakeholders such as institutional investors, banking and audit regulators and governments.

Steve now has a portfolio of non-executive positions at Nuffield Health and Carey Group Limited (and he chairs the risk and audit committees of both entities) as well as charitable positions with the Royal Collection Trust and Ark Schools Academy.
