The Fallen of Afghanistan
Discover the poignant legacy of the British soldiers who served and lost their life in Afghanistan through the remarkable art of Kevin Wills, an army veteran himself. He has dedicated his talent to honour the memory of all 457 British officers and soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice, and his painted portraits are a heartfelt tribute.
Among those honoured are the brave 15 Gurkha soldiers, who lost 15 of their life during the conflict. The Gurkha Museum Trust is honoured to showcase the portraits of 11 Gurkha heroes who fell in action while serving in Afghanistan between 2001 and 2021.
As part of this initiative, Veterans…Can is embarking on a fundraising mission to send a team to Nepal, where they will present the rportraits directly to the families of these remarkable individuals. You’re invited to join us at The Gurkha Museum to pay tribute to the fallen heroes of Afghanistan and reflect on their bravery. Don’t miss the “Fallen of Afghanistan” exhibition running from November 1 to April 1, 2025. Entry is free with admission
“The Gurkha Museum Trust has the responsibility to preserve and to promote the Brigade of Gurkhas’ history, heritage and ethos. It has been an honour for us to safeguard and display these wonderful protraits while their move to Nepal was being arranged and we are grateful to Veterans Can … for the opportunity”
Director of The Gurkha Museum Trust, Dr Daren Bowyer
