Khukuris, Curry and Craft – May family activity day
Join us in May half term for family fun, creativity and curry 27 May from 1000 hrs to 1500 hrs.
Join us this May half-term for a day filled with creativity, crafts, and delicious curry at The Gurkha Museum Trust! From 1000 hrs to 1500 hrs, families are invited to step back over 200 years into Gurkha heritage and history.
Explore the origins of the lasting friendship between Britain and Nepal. Discover how Gurkhas were recruited, starting officially in 1816 with the Treaty of Sugauli. Design and decorate your own foam khukuri while exploring the incredible 210 years of this friendship! To round off your experience at the museum, enjoy the flavours of Nepali curry in our McDonald Gallery.
About the activity:
- Family drop-in sessions run from 1000 hrs to 1500 hrs with no booking required.
- Designed for children between 4 and 10 years old.
- All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
- FREE family activity day; voluntary donations welcome.
