Bravery in Burma – Evening Lecture with The Director and Assistant Curator

The forces of General William “Bill” Slim’s 14th Army were prepared to advance back into Burma and reclaim the territory from Imperial Japan. The hard-fought progress of the 14th Army South in 1945 provides the backdrop for the stories of the final two Gurkha Victoria Crosses awarded for the Burma Campaign. to Riflemen Bhanbhagta Gurung and Lachhiman Gurung.
