4TH GURKHA RIFLES HELMET FLASH
Helmet and uniform flashes are used to allow soldiers to quickly distinguish the units and designations of other solders around them, otherwise clad in identical uniforms. This flash was worn by officers and soldiers of the 4th Prince of Wales’s Own Gurkha Rifles from 1904-1934 and 1919-1920 respectively, with the officers also occasionally wearing them on issued pith helmets in hot or desert conditions.
