“A photographic perspective on life in Nepal”
Johnny is a former Gurkha officer and now a commercial photographer specialising in adventure and expedition photography. He has visited Nepal many times, including two years living in Pokhara from 2010-2012 as the Field Director for the Gurkha Welfare Trust. In the last 15 years he has visited virtually every region of Nepal including travelling to the villages at the epicentre of the devastating earthquake of April 2015. 18 months later he re-visited those villages and some of those people he photographed immediately after the earthquake.
His talk will show, through photographs, what is involved in travel and adventure photography in Nepal; talking through how some images were taken, and how his relationship with Nepal allows him a unique perspective on this incredible country.
Due to the Hindu Festival of Tihar the Museum will be closed on Saturday 21 October. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
