SUMMER EXHIBITION – Standard of the Burma Star Association

SUMMER EXHIBITION – Standard of the Burma Star Association

The Burma Star was one of the Campaign Stars issued for service during the Second World War. After the conflict an association was set up to support its recipients in dealing with the hardships experienced during the campaign, known as the Burma Star Association, with Field Marshal Viscount Slim as its first President.

The Burma Star Association standard was laid up at the Museum when the Southampton branch of the association was disbanded.
