SUMMER EXHIBITION – Officer’s Hat, Felt, Gurkha, 1st King George V’s Own Gurkha Rifles

The ‘Hat, Felt, Gurkha’ or Gurkha Hat has been worn by officers and soldiers of the Gurkha Regiments since the early 20th Century, and was a distinctive aspect of their uniform during the Second World War. The flash seen on its side helped identify the unit of its wearer.
